The outstanding AU-X1 was probably the best integrated amplifier Sansui ever made. It is extremely rare (especially in the UK). The matching tuner, the TU-X1 was an absolutely fabulous piece of engineering and is considered my many to be the best tuner ever made by any manufacturer - at any price!!. AU-X1 used values are less than half those of it's matching tuner Like all Sansui's amplifiers and tuners manufactured in the late 1970's the AU-X1 has a thick aluminium front panel painted in matt black. It looks tasteful but the paint finish can be easily chipped/scratched when subjected to careless handling. Image attribution: Sansui sales brochure
