The SR-525 was nice mid-price audiophile orientated manual direct drive deck with a cabinet constructed from 40mm thick chipboard finished in dark grey vinyl. It had stroboscopic pitch controls and electronic speed change. Sansui claimed an impressive -72dB figure for rumble. The SR-525, not being a suspended design, obviously relied on on four natural rubber insulating feet attached to the solid cabinet base to absorb vibrations. The Sansui SR-525 is fairly uncommon in the UK but you do see them pop up occasionally on eBay. |
