The ST-A6B was a high-end FM only Sony tuner, manufactured circa 1977 to 1979 and was contemporary to the illustrious Sony TA-F6B V-FET integrated amplifier. It succeeded and improved upon the excellent ST-5950SD. It is possibly the second best tuner the Company ever made (after the ST-A7B - also from the late 1970's). It boasted a 7 gang variable tuning capacitor which afforded superb sensitivity and it's performance stands up against the finest tuners ever made. |
